BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER S3e16 Dopplegangland

The one where Enya & Willow cast a spell that backfires resulting in alternate reality-evil-vampire-Willow being displaced to the wrong universe. Best parts: They swap clothes, leaving evil-Willow in the pink fluffy outfit and good Willow in black leather dom-wear so she can infiltrate the bronze; evil Willow beats up slacker football guy and later he treats Willow way better, Willow has the best lines, especially when she was describing vamp- willow, "skanky and kind of gay".

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Favourite Episodes

S & I are trying to determine which episodes are the best. I'm trying to group them as by type if episode.

CRACK (over the top, humor, ironic)

Band Candy (S3E3) - the one where all the adults eat the cursed band candy and turn into a bunch of rowdy teenagers.  The mayor uses the distraction to steal 4 babies so he can pay tribute to a sewer daemon. Highlights: Giles & Joyce shag on a police car, Principal Snyder is funny "Summers, you drive like a spaz",  Buffy beats up Giles' rival while he eggs her on.

Dopplegangland (S3e16) resulting in alternate reality-evil-vampire-Willow being displaced to the wrong universe.

Beer Bad - (S3E)

Zander:  "What gave it away?"

Willow:   "Looking at it."

Zander: "Nothing can defeat the PENIS."

Sherlock Returns! The countdown begins...

One of my favourite pieces to play is the Sherlock theme song.

Steven says I pick the hardest things to play and he's probably correct but in this case it's more about obsession than anything else... can't wait until Sherlock returns!

This is for season 3 but I'm just waiting for Three-Patch-Podcast to update their code and they are waiting for Moff-tiss to announce the start date. I give it another 2 years...

Injuries

I have apparently injured my thumb. Which sucks, because you know, Ouch and also, viola. So I finally went to the doctor after several weeks of whining, resting, semi- healing, re-injury (crunchy snow bank shoveling), ranting, more whimpering, self-pity, ... So ya, silly me.

Dr. Eric is a rockstar. Also, very familiar with joint and nerve injuries.

Now, I just have to come up with a clever way to brace my thumb while I play. By the time I'm through, I'll have my entire right hand in a cast.

Time to adjust the tension in my bow hand.

Zoe, Zoe, Zoe and More Zoe

Again, I must say, Zoe Keating rocks the hell out if her cello.

I've finally explored all of her published pieces and they're all good -- well, except for one (the second track, the one  after Tango, in collaboration with a singer) but I don't think she had full control over that song. Besides, it's just not my thing. I bet a lot if people love it but I find it too noisy. I listened to those two on her website

This is another of Zoe's masterpieces called Legions.

'They' call her style Avant Guard. I don't think she fits into a genre. Perhaps, she's created her own.

Zoe, you are a fracking ROCK STAR!

Damn you Schubert, you dick

Well, I'm sure he was perfectly nice but this piece is killing me (and my poor little dog). Oh and every one else within hearing distance.

I think I'll eventually be able to play it as I've actually improved since last week even. At least now, it's starting to resemble some kind of song. Or so my lovely ( generous and forgiving... Did I mention patient? Yes, definitely patient...) husband tells me. Bless him.

I will continue to murder Schubert on a daily basis then until ... Well for a very long time. Most likely. Lets just hope it doesn't go the way of "Claire de Lune".

Hopefully, one day, I can play somewhere near as good as this high school student

This guy blows my mind. Strad Viola. OMG

I'm obsessed with Zoe Keating

I've been listening to my "Zoe Keating" playlist on my pod nonstop -- sometimes on repeat for hours -- since I managed to download the mp3s. It's a great playlist; it allows me to concentrate on what I'm reading without distracting me and even more surprising is the fact that I can actually write while listening as well. That, in my experience, is the sign of a truly excellent trance song.

The playlist:

Into the Trees
Walking Man
The Path

I plan on adding to it as I discover more pieces of her work. Until then I'll continue to work out the notes (using Audacity's Analyze Pitch plugin) of Escape Artist so that I can learn how to play it on my viola.

So far I've worked out a few measures only. Here's what I've got so far with a few embellishments of my own.
